ChatGPT talks trends

As we all continue to explore how to work with AI, I’m interested in its idea generation as a shortcut to getting to bigger ideas. I asked ChatGPT to come up with ten ideas for blog posts on content marketing, and then another prompt to generate ten blog post ideas on marketing. Here’s its reply.

I think it’s interesting to look at both together. Pros: these are the solid, standard ideas that I have read articles about and even written about, about half of which I would generate on my own but not in 20 seconds.

Cons: anyone with experience has likely written about most of them before already as they jump quickly to mind. But workable, and definitely a couple that felt outside of the usual brainstorm: visual content and personalization, for example. But the comparison is also interesting for the window into AI’s process. There’s the basics of the industry post, the history/evolution post, the definitional post, the trends post, the by-the-numbers post, and a post that looks at something new. All of these bring a good balance to your mix and an approach I would use to balance out an editorial calendar.

And of course, the tool’s important reminder at the end: “These blog post ideas should provide a solid starting point for creating informative and engaging content about marketing. Make sure to adapt them to your specific niche, industry, and target audience for the best results.” Good tip.
