What is the single thing that you could do to increase your odds of success?
I’m asked often for advice by my students about directions they could take, and this is often my answer.
The question may differ, often in the form of ‘how do I fix .
By the time they ask me, naturally they have ruminated on the problem. Maybe read a lot of online articles. Consulted other people. I know that when I’ve worried about a problem for a while,
I’m often the expert on options.
But then you can face paralysis by analysis or many great ideas without the time to implement.
Enter the question.
When you break it down, then the next step becomes easy. For myself, I have started to prioritize a top three. For my book promotion, for example, when overwhelmed by the number of tasks I could do, I thought, which is the one that would connect me to my readers? Do that first. What’s the effort that would have the second-best return? Do that second.
