It’s been said that good writers borrow and great writers steal.
I find myself stealing on a regular basis, from posts and newsletters that I already read.
Not the substance of course, but the idea.
Just as every fiction writer knows there no original ideas, I’ve learned as a non-fiction writer that there are no original post topics.
For example, if someone wrote a post on thought leadership. I appreciate it, I will absorb it, but I also have my own thoughts on the topic. So any post that I write will be different. I will have my own take.
Sometimes I will even engage in conversation with the original post writer by making a comment on their post.
But then I’ll file away the topic for myself for later.
So feel free to steal this idea. I don’t mind.
